EO4EU Plenary Meeting in Bologna (IT)

In the context of EO4EU plenary meeting in Bologna, DrC (Dimitrios Kaklis & Katerina Dimitriou), presented in high level the use case of Ocean Monitoring that is realized through the innovative module of Danaos Weather Navigator.

During the presentation the main pathways for the utilization of the EO4EU platform were established, by outlining exploitable data sources (weather services, satellite images) that aim to upscale the spatiotemporal resolution against the current practice adopted by DANAOS for weather routing optimization, and eventually assist shipowners to achieve efficiency in fleet management with tangible benefits in terms of emission reduction, environmental compliance and protection of crew safety onboard.

@DrC will participate in the upcoming EO4EU Webinar, on 20/2/2023, regarding Ocean Monitoring use case, where a more thorough description of the Weather Navigator will be demonstrated, involving a live demo. During the presentation, the motivation, vision and potential future expansion of the WR module will be showcased by incorporating core functionalities of the envisaged EO4EU platform.
