DrC in Copenhagen (Engimmonia) & Nantes (CoPropel)
The DrC member, Fotios Oikomomou, participated in the GA for Engimmonia (Copenhagen) on 8-9 November 2022. During the 1st day of the meeting the progress of WPs were discussed, as well as the upcoming goals and actions and technical meetings were performed in the 2nd day.
Moreover, ENGIMMONIA and SEANERGY projects launched a webinar entitled “Are EU ports ready for alternative fuels?”. The event held in hybrid mode on 10th November 2022 in Malmö, at the World Maritime University. The ENGIMMONIA and SEANERGY projects, both co-funded by EU, are joining forces for an exclusive event to present different relevant decarbonization experiences from EU ports. There was the chance to interact, in dedicated interactive sessions, with other ports and maritime stakeholders too, for the identification of opportunities and barriers towards the promotion of alternative fuels in EU Ports.
The Consortium of EU Project ‘’CoPropel’’ met in Nantes on 23rd and 24th of November, 2022. During the M6 Meeting, the progress of the WPs, as well as the achievements, objectives and the forthcoming actions were discussed. Our colleagues, Artemis Flori & Fotios Oikonomou, attended the meeting and presented the progress of WP1.
CoPropel puts forth a holistic approach in the shipping industry by introducing a composite marine propeller offering corrosion resistance, lightweight, tailoring of material properties, low electric signature and acoustic properties. Danaos participates in this project as WP1 Leader. WP1 is related to the ‘’ Definition of Requirements specifications and supply chain build-up‘’. Moreover, Danaos holds a position as Contributor in many others WPs related to the test of the propeller in the sea trials, as well as in tasks related to the exploitation and dissemination.
