Pioneering Maritime Innovation and EU Collaboration

Our Danaos Research Centre is participating in over 24 EU co-funded projects, each contributing to innovation and progress in various fields of maritime research and innovation.

In line with our commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing cutting-edge research, our team members recently participated in key plenary meetings across Europe, spanning from Italy to Denmark.

The meetings we participated include:

  • E-SHYIPS Project: A key meeting in Denmark, focusing on hydrogen implementation on ships.
  • AUTOASSESS Project: Held in Lausanne, Switzerland, this meeting revolved around advancements in autonomous aerial inspection systems and their applications.
  • ENGIMMONIA Project: A productive session in Munich, Germany, dedicated to the integration of innovative sustainable technologies for future long-distance shipping.
  • EO4EU Project: In Dresden, Germany, this meeting concentrated on the latest advancements in AI-augmented eco-system for Earth Observation data.
  • COPROPEL Project: In Port Varna, in Bulgaria, discussions focused on the development of next-generation propellers.
  • MEDIATE Project: A highly anticipated kick-off meeting in Chania, Greece, bringing together experts to explore a multi-faceted implementation of a mixed software/hardware-based zero-trust framework for the computing continuum
  • ESY ECOSHIPYARD Project: Held in Kiel, this GA meeting focused on eco-friendly shipbuilding technologies and practices.
  • E-SHYIPS Project: Final Event in Milan, where the outcomes and contributions of the E-SHyIPS project were discussed and celebrated.

These meetings not only allowed us to track the progress of each project but also provided a platform to exchange ideas with international partners. The discussions have further strengthened our role in advancing research and innovation within the EU framework, and we look forward to continued collaboration with our partners to achieve the ambitious goals of these projects.
