Autonomous ship reality online Webinar
Ours Fotis Oikonomou gave a presentation to the Autonomous Ship Reality online series organized by BS group on Thursday, March 9.
The series underlying the realization of autonomous ship operation both in technical and regulatory aspects. The virtual webinar was moderated by Prof. Nikolas Ventikos from NTUA while presenters from SINTEF, Metrostar Management Corporation, IBM and other major institutions and companies shared their thoughts about autonomous shipping concepts, trends and challenges for the operation of MASS.
Fotis talked about the digital tools in modern shipping which enable the configuration of autonomous procedures in ship operation, as well as how autonomy is spanned across traffic control of the global fleet and the ship-port interface. He also presented concepts from MOSES and SAFENAV EU projects where both bring forward use cases of autonomous solutions applied to vessel navigation, docking, and handling of cargo.
